Large machining centers typically have some sort of LED bar to indicate current status, along with bright white lights to properly illuminate the work. With this project, I'm hoping to kill both aforementioned birds with one stone.

The Othermill's Motor Mount (designed by yours truly) is made of a ferrous stainless steel and has four embedded PEM-style nuts, making it fairly trivial to attach things to. For this project, I used a small piece of bent sheet metal and some electronics from Adafruit to brighten up the inside of the mill.
